Fife Housing Group continues ‘Giving Something Back’ this Christmas
This Christmas, Fife Housing Group has made an additional £6,000 of donations to local charities across Fife through their ‘Giving Something Back’ programme.
The recipients include Dunfermline, Levenmouth and Kirkcaldy Foodbanks, Frontline Fife and Fife Women’s Aid.
Colleagues Gavin Waddell and Suzanne Hume visited Fife Women’s Aid and the Kirkcaldy foodbank on Christmas Eve to present their donations. Both charities are busier than ever at this time of year and their services are in high demand.
Suzanne Hume, engagement officer, commented on their visits: “It’s really special to give that little bit of extra support at this time of year to these incredible charities making a real difference across Fife. We know that the festive season can be a tough time for many people, and it was heartwarming speaking to staff from Kirkcaldy Foodbank and Fife Women’s Aid to find out about their work and how they are coping with the Christmas demand. They play such a crucial role in our communities and we are delighted to be able to help.”
Director of housing Beverley Graham said: “Giving back to our communities is very important to all of us at Fife Housing Group, especially at this time of year. With prices continuing to rise and the cost of living crisis continuing to put people under a lot of pressure, we want to help as many people as possible through this difficult winter. I want to say a big thank you to our contractors for the donations they make to our Giving Something Back programme.”
This funding is available due to the generosity of the group’s contractors, who have joined their charitable framework and pledged to donate 2% of their invoiced costs to benefit these worthy causes.
This year, the programme has also awarded over £18,500 to ten groups and projects in their local communities throughout Fife. These included Rosyth Men’s Shed, Kirkcaldy YMCA, Leven Environment Group and Cowdenbeath After School Club.
The Giving Something Back Grants programme will be running again in 2025 with applications open to any charitable organisation operating in Fife. More information regarding this will be available on Fife Housing Group’s website and social media channels in the coming months.
