Fife Housing Group hosts fun day for families
As part of an ongoing commitment to ‘Give Something Back’ to its tenants and communities, Fife Housing Group recently organised a free day out for a group of local families.
Tenants were asked to nominate deserving families who they thought would really benefit from spending a fun-filled day together, and colleagues set about arranging a Family Fun Day to be remembered.
One of the event organisers, Karen Begg, said: “Giving Something Back was the theme of our colleague conference this year and we were keen to do something to support these families by arranging a day where they could forget about the challenges they’re facing for a few hours and just focus on spending some quality time together.
“We held the event at Cluny Activities which meant we were able to cater for all different age groups, with family games and fiercely contested egg and spoon races in the morning, followed by Footgolf and some time in the adventure playground for the younger kids, and archery and air rifle practice for the older ones, in the afternoon.
“We also had a face painter available, who proved very popular with children and adults alike, and finished up the day with an Easter egg hunt, to ensure that everyone went home happy with lots of chocolate.
“All of the families seemed to enjoy themselves and feedback on the day was fantastic so hopefully we managed to achieve our aim.”
