Fifers encouraged to complete applications for Property Flood Resilience Grant
Fife Council is urging people who are at risk of flooding to apply for the Property Flood Resilience Grant.
Anyone who has already submitted an application is being encouraged to keep up to date with the application process, and provide any further information needed to progress their application.
So far, 175 applications have been received from every area of Fife, showing the widespread issue of flood risk across Fife.
Applications are being processed on a first-come, first-served basis, so it’s important that Fifers that are at risk of flooding, submit their applications as soon as possible to ensure they don’t miss out on financial support.
Cllr Jan Wincott, spokesperson for climate change and environment, said: “In recent years, Fife has been impacted by a number of extreme weather events. This new grant scheme to support property resilience will provide much needed help to our communities affected by flooding, as well as putting measures in place to help protect against the risk of flooding in the future.
“As part of our refreshed Climate Fife 2024 Strategy and Action Plan we are focusing on climate resilience, and that includes helping residents and properties become more resilient to flooding. Finding solutions to reduce the impact of flooding is just one of the ways that we are adapting to climate change to help our communities prepare for, and respond to, the impacts of climate change.”
The deadline for applications for the Property Flood Resilience Grant is 7th March 2025. Apply now by visiting here.
