Financial advisers pledge support to Aberdeen Cyrenians
A North East financial services firm is pledging its support to Aberdeen Cyrenians to help fund key projects for those affected by homelessness in the city and surrounding area.
Phil Anderson Financial Services Ltd said it will gift the charity with £10 for every mortgage procuration fee the firm receives and arranges on behalf of clients.
The company has arranged over 100 mortgages in under five months, raising £1030 for the charity to date.
Phil Anderson Financial Services, which specialises in mortgages, insurance, investments and pensions, will continue to support the charity for the remainder of the year.
Aberdeen Cyrenians, which supports individuals who are affected by homelessness in Aberdeen and the surrounding area, has been established for over 45 years. The charity provides a number of key services to the local community, including care homes providing accommodation, a domestic abuse and supported accommodation project, an advice and information service, the street alternatives project and many more vital services.
Phil Anderson, managing director of Phil Anderson Financial Services, said: “After visiting the Cyrenian’s facilities in Aberdeen I knew immediately that I wanted to help the charity in any way possible. The charity offers fantastic services to those experiencing homelessness and is something I really wanted to give back to. They run a number of different projects and work extremely hard to help those most in need, which is very inspiring.
“For every person we help to buy or rent a home, there is someone else living in fear of eviction or repossession, and many thousands more who have no permanent place to call home. By organising this initiative, we can hopefully help the Aberdeen Cyrenians continue to deliver a number of the key services they provide.”
Scott Baxter, depute chief executive of Aberdeen Cyrenians, added: “We at Aberdeen Cyrenians are delighted to receive this thoughtful and generous donation from Phil Anderson Financial Services. It comes at a time where an ever-increasing number of people are experiencing financial hardship and seeking our assistance, which Phil and his dedicated team have recognised and chosen to help.
“This donation will go to support our frontline services which have experienced a 100 per cent increase in demand over the last 12 months.”
