First look at new homes set to transform former school site in Glasgow’s East End
CCG Homes has unveiled indicative images of its proposed new development at a derelict site in the East End of Glasgow.
The developer submitted planning proposals to Glasgow City Council earlier in the spring signalling its intent to create up to 156 homes upon a 6.5ha site adjacent to Edinburgh Road in Springboig.
The site was once home to a school that was demolished in 2010 and is surrounded by a rich, environmental landscape that is unique to this area of the city.
Proposals for the new development include up to 124, two, three and four-bedroom homes for sale in a range of detached, semi-detached and terraced house types with a further 32, one and two-bedroom apartments intended for market rent that would be taken forward with a chosen rental partner.
CCG Homes said the site will retain a focus on its rich bio-diversity with large, rear gardens and communal amenity space also creating a safe and secure environment for future homeowners.
Ample car parking will be provided whilst all homes will be designed to achieve enhanced standards of environmental performance, it added.
If granted approval, CCG Homes would aim to launch sales in the summer of 2022.
CCG Homes managing director, Calum Murray, said: “We are delighted to give people their first look of 1190 Edinburgh Road, a development that will contribute greatly to an already thriving Springboig community that is well served by local shops, community facilities and excellent transport links.
“Our proposed housing mix has been designed to be accessible to a wide-ranging demographic, suitable for families and downsizers alike, and I am confident that the proposals will be accepted by Glasgow City Council.”
CCG Homes has sold out its Riverford Gardens development in Glasgow’s Southside whilst the developer is expected to launch its new development, Western Terrace, this summer, with 81 two and three-bedroom homes available to buy in Cambuslang.
