Bellway has built 18 properties for the local authority at the site, comprising two, three and four-bedroom homes.

Cost-effective air source heating has been installed at the properties.

The homes were completed at the end of December and Gary Robinson and his partner were able to move in just before Christmas.

Gary who has been on the housing waiting list since 2018, is overjoyed with his new two-bedroom terraced home.

He said: “I’m really happy with my new home. It’s been built to a high standard and I’m enjoying living here.”

Cllr Stuart McKenzie, cabinet member for housing, said: “It was a pleasure to meet Gary, one of the first tenants to move into this development. I am delighted to hear that he is happy with his new home and settling in well. New, modern homes like these can make a world of difference to people’s lives.”

The next phase of properties will be released later in the year.
