Legal company Pagan Osborne is hosting an event for first-time buyers at its George Street offices in Edinburgh next week.

The event on March 17, run in partnership with the ESPC, will cover mortgage advice, the legal process and general information on the property market and how to get a foot on the first rung of the ladder.

Karen Turner, Pagan Osborne property director, who will be speaking at the event, said: “It’s been a difficult few years for first-time buyers coping with rigorous mortgage requirements, larger deposits and rising rental costs. But there is now more reason than ever to make that initial move into the property market. And there are numerous ways and opportunities to help that aspiration of home ownership become a reality – providing potential buyers are pragmatic and not over-ambitious.

“This event will talk people through the process, giving them essential practical advice and confidence to help them make the appropriate property decision for their lifestyle and circumstances.”

Paul Hilton, ESPC chief executive, said: “Last year the City of Edinburgh residential property market was worth more than £2.8 billion to the Scottish economy. Keeping the market moving is vital and that’s why we’re delighted to help more people take that first step into the property market. Events like this, where potential buyers can meet and chat to the experts, are a great way to get advice and reassurance about what is one of the biggest and most exciting decisions they can make.”

The free event, at Pagan Osborne, Clarendon House, 116 George Street, Edinburgh, takes place on Thursday, March 17 between 5.30 and 7.30pm. Anyone interested in attending should email Amy Zoltie on azoltie@pagan.co.uk.
