Brunton Design has made applications for full planning approval and listed building consent for a 10-unit flatted development on Roseangle in Dundee’s West End.

28 Roseangle is a Category C Listed Building constructed circa 1830. The building is now in an extreme state of disrepair having suffered extensive vandalism and fire damage in the past 20 years.

The proposal seeks approval for the restoration and sympathetic sub-division of the existing property to create six residential units with associated communal external amenity space along with a new build four-storey flatted extension in the garden ground to the south.

Allan Mudie from Brunton Design wrote on LinkedIn: “Our client’s wish is to respect the preservation of the historic building and to ensure that it retains its character and so the scale of the new dwelling proposal is modest in relation to the surrounding context of the existing large buildings on Roseangle. The ethos of the design is to provide energy-efficient, adaptable flats that will suit modern living needs.

“The design of the proposal is focused on respecting the existing building as well as not adversely affecting the adjacent building (flats and offices). Our client loves it and so do we.”
