It is with sadness that I announce the death of former Cube Housing Association head of housing Flora Frame.

Flora began work at Scottish Special Housing Association at the age of sixteen and worked for over forty years at Scottish Special Housing Association, Scottish Homes and Cube Housing Association.

In the early 1990s, she was seconded to Cube Housing Association and led the tenant consultation that resulted in a positive tenant vote to transfer housing from Scottish Homes to Cube. The properties, that included the Broomhill and Wyndford estates in Glasgow, were one of the first transfers in Scotland from Scottish Homes to a housing association.

Her former Cube management team colleagues, Lynne Carr, David McIndoe, Sandra McLeod and Euan Ramsay paid tribute to her: “She was a consummate professional, well liked by tenants and staff. She supported and mentored staff, with great energy and humour, with many people still in senior roles in Scottish housing today, who were influenced and inspired by her. She will be remembered for her no-nonsense approach and great sense of fun.”

Flora retired in 2003 and whilst having a heavily committed social life, including connections with the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society, continued her involvement in housing for several years as a Management Committee at Abbeyfield, prior to the formation of Abbeyfield Scotland.

She will be sadly missed by all.

Flora’s funeral will be Thursday 29th October 2015, at 10.00am at St Andrews, Bearsden Cross and then at 11.30 at Clydebank Crematorium.
