Forth Housing Association to develop enterprise and training hub
Working in partnership with a range of agencies Forth Housing Association is to purchase the former Kildean Hospital, in Raploch, Stirling, to redevelop as an enterprise and training hub.
Forth HA will purchase the redundant hospital buildings from NHS Forth Valley and in conjunction with Raploch Urban Regeneration Company will extensively refurbish the buildings, thanks to grant funding of £900,000 from the Scottish Government, via the Regeneration Capital Grant Fund.
The hub will become a base for third sector and voluntary organisations including Forth HA and Raploch URC’s training arm, Stirling Community Enterprise.
There will also be 11 further office spaces designed to accommodate small or start-up businesses, with short term flexible leases. These will be managed by local business support agency STEP.
Forth’s chairperson, Margaret Turner, said: “This is a great example of agencies working together to not only refurbish derelict buildings but to introduce new businesses and training opportunities to our community.”
