Four Taylor Wimpey site managers in West Scotland win quality awards
Four Taylor Wimpey site managers from its developments across the west of Scotland region are celebrating having each won a prestigious national housebuilding award.
Pride in the Job Quality Awards have been running for 43 years and are awarded following a rigorous judging process. With only 443 winners selected from over 8,000 site managers across the UK, the accolade celebrates the most exceptional managers who are recognised for their dedication to building high-quality homes.
Taylor Wimpey West Scotland’s NHBC (National House Building Council) Pride in the Job Quality Award 2023 winners are: David McClure (Castle Gate, Maidenhill); Alan Meek (Stoneyetts View, Moodiesburn), Scott McCreadie (Torrance Place, Holytown) and Douglas Kirkland (Newton Farm, Cambuslang).
Each of these award-winning site managers progresses to the Scottish regional awards final later this year to find out who is the best of the best in Scotland.
Each site manager is assessed across six key areas: consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise and health and safety. Thousands of site inspections and meticulous scoring and verifications have taken place to decide the winning site managers. Each of these Quality Award winners will now go on to compete for Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards in the autumn, with the national Supreme Award winners unveiled in January 2024.
Brian Henderson, production director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, commented: “Achieving and maintaining the highest levels of quality and customer service is very important to our business, and we are pleased to receive this independent industry recognition. These individual awards are tough to achieve and we’re very proud that we have some of the best site managers working for our business in Scotland.
“This year, each one of our winners has previously won Pride in the Job Awards. Their continued and consistent success in these awards demonstrates our drive to deliver the highest levels of quality, service and commitment to our customers right across the west of Scotland.”
Steve Wood, CEO at the NHBC, said: “Congratulations to all the winners who should feel proud to have received a Pride in the Job Award. Pride in the Job is firmly at the heart of NHBC’s mission to raise standards in the housing industry. It is important we recognise the vital role site managers play in ensuring new homes are delivered on time, on safe sites and to exacting construction quality standards.”
