Neighbourhood Networks specialise in supporting individuals with learning and physical disabilities and mental health concerns. The charity helps facilitate independent living within homes and active participation in local communities across the central belt of Scotland. Community Living Workers, living in the same communities as members, offer localised expertise and support. They aim to enhance quality of life, increased independence and reducing isolation.

Provost Kenneth Duffy and North Lanarkshire Council depute leader Louise Roarty presented the charity with a cheque after the funds were raised by donations from councillors and staff at the annual Provost’s Christmas Jumper Day.

Provost Duffy said: “The generous donations from elected members and council staff will help contribute to the outstanding work undertaken by Neighbourhood Networks throughout our communities and beyond.

“North Lanarkshire is a place well-known for rallying around and supporting those in need and we have so many wonderful voluntary groups and individuals within our communities. Well done to everyone who helped with their donations, and on behalf of the council, I want to thank Neighbourhood Networks for the vital service they provide to support vulnerable people in our area.”
