Funeral announcement for housing consultant Norma Jones
Suddenly, but very peacefully, Norma Jones, housing consultant and former Edinburgh councillor, passed away on Saturday, 6th February, 2016, at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh.
Norma had a varied background in housing advice and advocacy, homelessness, politics, broadcasting, campaign work, lecturing, staff training, social research and service user involvement.
A former Edinburgh councillor and member of COSLA, Norma spent some years as depute chair of the Edinvar Group. She has also been an honorary tutor in social work at Stirling University, and a visiting lecturer in housing at Glasgow.
Norma joined the Housing Options Scotland team in 2010 as an associate, managing administration, finance and the HOS training and events programme before moving across to a new role providing support to the chief executive in April 2013.
She was also a partner in Jones Ogg Associates, a successful communication consultancy which organises and delivers training, event management, design and media work, communication audits and social research for organisations across Scotland.
Her funeral service will be held at Warriston Crematorium, Lorimer Chapel, Edinburgh, on Tuesday, 23rd February, at 2pm.
No flowers please, but donations to the Edinburgh Maggie’s Centre would make Norma very happy.
