Glasgow Credit Union launches ‘Finances Made Friendly’ podcast
Glasgow Credit Union, one of the UK’s largest credit unions, has launched a new podcast to provide no-frills practical financial advice in an easy-to-listen way.
‘Finances Made Friendly’ will offer valuable hints and tips to help listeners get the most out of their finances, build financial resilience and save money on everything from energy bills to holidays to home improvements.
Over ten episodes, Scottish TV and radio presenter Heather Suttie speaks to industry leaders, money saving experts and celebrity guest stars such as Anna Campbell-Jones from Scotland’s Home of the Year, Karen Musgrave from Barrhead Travel and The Money Doctor’s Fergus Muirhead.
There are also insightful soundbites from well-known Scots including Kay Adams, Doug Allan, Jean Johansson, Colin McCredie and Atta Yaqub.
David Ross, CEO, said: “The results from our annual member survey in February 2023, which engaged nearly 10,000 members aged 16 and over across West and Central Scotland, revealed that more than three quarters of Scots are concerned about their current financial situation.
“At Glasgow Credit Union we’ve always been committed to improving the lives of our members and easing their financial worries through competitive products and educational workshops.
“However, these survey results inspired us to go the extra mile and create an easily accessible resource that openly speaks to the financial challenges we’re all facing, in the hope that we can better serve both our members and the wider community.”
Glasgow Credit Union currently has over 59,000 members who benefit from regular savings and competitively priced loans and mortgage products. As a member driven organisation, its overarching ethos is to financially empower their members and communities by providing financial education and increasing financial literacy in the wider community through their work with local organisations and employers.
David Ross continued: “We’re very excited to be launching this new series and that such a diverse and well respected variety of industry leaders took the time to speak to Heather to share their personal stories and offer realistic, actionable advice.
“We are acutely aware of the financial struggles facing not just our members, but people across the country and we wanted to create an engaging platform to provide a wider audience with useful insight, and inspiration for managing your finances with confidence.”
All ten episodes are available to listen to on all major podcast platforms.
