Govan Housing Association celebrates TIS award win
Govan Housing Association’s community inclusion officer Ryan Davidson was named Tenant Participation Champion at the Tenant Information Service’s National Excellence Awards this month.
The award recognises Ryan’s contributions to the Association and the wider community in Govan through establishing and leading the Community Inclusion Programme, which sees the Association offer a variety of community developments projects that includes; breakfast clubs, women’s groups, a digital inclusion programme, men’s groups, a walking group and much more.
The Community Inclusion Team has a reputation for good, strong community led projects and is one of the leaders in partnership development and community engagement in the local area. Over the three years Ryan has been in post, the Association has significantly improved community capacity building through funding resources, increasing its staff team and supporting small third sector and social enterprises to integrate into the community and sustain themselves.
Ryan Davidson, community inclusion officer, said: “It was great to be part of the evening alongside some fantastic nominees in the category, all of which I’m sure are equally as deserving of the award. It is great to get national recognition for the work our team is doing in Govan with our tenants and the wider community. I’m very lucky to work in a team with two incredibly passionate and committed people who have helped develop our programme and continue to support tenants with a diverse range of issues.”
