Green light for 128 homes and flats at former Carntyne ammunition factory

Planning permission has been granted for 128 houses and flats on a 2.5-hectare former ammunition factory in Carntyne.
AS Homes Scotland and S2 Architecture will now deliver 90 houses, a mix of two, three and four-bedroom properties, on land on Myreside Street at Rigby Street.
Thirty-eight flats will be built in a four-storey block, nine with one bedroom and 29 with two bedrooms.

There will be 128 car parking spaces for residents and 32 for visitors.
The site was originally developed as a munitions factory during the First World War.
An existing metal-clad factory and brown brick building partly occupy the site. These were used until recently for steel fabrication.
