GWSF publishes housing guide to 2016 manifestos
The Glasgow and West of Scotland Forum of Housing Associations (GWSF) has issued guidance on the housing-related pledges in the 2016 party manifestos.
The briefing details policies from the five main parties on housing supply, social housing, homelessness, existing housing stock, housing aspects on social security and the PRS as well as other issues such as support for housing co-operatives, adaptations, housing and older people, communities and land and finally refugees.
GWSF has also supplied commentary on issues of particular interest to the organisation.
Last month GWSF launched its own manifesto for the election which listed nine proposals to provide more investment and protection for community controlled housing associations (CCHAs).
Peter Howden, GWSF chair, said: “There’s a general feeling that the election result is fairly predictable this time round. But it’s still really important that we understand all the main parties’ housing priorities, as this will inform the extent of cross-party consensus going forward.”
