Hanover partners with charity to improve housing options for veterans
Hanover Scotland has unveiled a crucial partnership with Veterans Housing Scotland which aims to enhance housing options for veterans.
It is hoped the initiative will help beneficiaries integrate into communities around the country.
Through this partnership, veterans, and their families, will have access to specially designated homes across Scotland, furthering Hanover Scotland’s mission to provide inclusive housing solutions that adapt to the unique needs of every individual.
It will also enhance awareness and understanding of veterans’ contributions to society, reinforcing their role within local neighbourhoods.
Esther Wilson, customer service director at Hanover Scotland, said: “We are deeply honoured to partner with Veterans Housing Scotland in a shared mission to support the independence and dignity of those who have served our country.
“At Hanover Scotland, we believe that safe, secure housing is fundamental to living a fulfilling life. This partnership allows us to extend our commitment to independent living by creating welcoming homes where veterans can continue to contribute to, and thrive within, their communities.”
Veterans Housing Scotland is the leading provider of homes for disabled veterans in Scotland. The charity shares Hanover Scotland’s vision of empowering veterans with the independence they deserve by providing safe and affordable housing. This partnership will make properties available across several regions, offering veterans a dependable pathway to integrate fully into their communities.
Stephen Elliot, deputy chief executive, Veterans Housing Scotland, said: “This partnership is further testament to our commitment to those who have given so much for our country, ensuring they receive the respect and opportunities they deserve.
“By working with Hanover Scotland, we are helping our beneficiaries build lives within strong, supportive communities where they feel valued and at home.”
In addition to offering homes, Hanover Scotland will extend its Armed Forces Independence Payment option to veterans.
This initiative ensures that those receiving a Guaranteed Income Payment of 50% or more under the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme are eligible, further enabling them to live independently while receiving essential support.
