Harbour Homes receives Investors in Diversity award
Harbour Homes has been commended by The National Centre for Diversity (NCFD) upon retaining its Investors in Diversity Silver Award.
The award reflects the Leith social landord’s commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in the workplace.
During the assessment, The National Centre for Diversity carried out staff interviews and facilitated group discussions, as well as reviewing internal documents. Harbour Homes demonstrated an ongoing commitment to strengthening its approach to EDI and has recently launched a new culture project.
The Investors in Diversity Award is recognised as the national equality standard. The framework helps workplaces to embed FREDIE (fairness, respect, equality, diversity, inclusion and engagement) practices and behaviours throughout their organisation’s culture. The three main EDI Accreditations are Bronze (committing), Silver (embedding) and Gold (leading).
Ngeme Ntuli, director of group finance and business support at Harbour Homes, said: “Our journey with The National Centre for Diversity has been incredibly helpful to us. We are committed to embedding the FREDIE principles within our culture and I am proud of the efforts staff have made to help us retain our Silver Award. We will take on board the recommendations to strive for Gold at our next accreditation.”
The National Centre for Diversity added: “The organisation has shown over the last six years a genuine and intentional effort to embed diversity and inclusion into the organisation’s culture.”
