Hawthorn arranges ESOL classes for tenants
Hawthorn Housing Co-operative has arranged classes for some of its tenants who do not have English as their first language.
Eleven tenants of the Co-op, which is based in the Possilpark area of Glasgow, have attended the classes held every week.
Gillian Halliday, community development worker for the Co-op, said: “We meet every few months with a group of our Chinese tenants and they told us that they would really appreciate if we could arrange classes to help improve their English.
“We would like to thank Glasgow City Council for providing the funding for the classes and Glasgow ESOL Forum who are delivering and part-funding the course.”
