Edinburgh Homeless Young PersonA team from the Institute for Social Policy, Housing, Environment and Real Estate (I-SPHERE) at Heriot-Watt University has raised over £3,000 from a youth homelessness charity.

The team is participating in The Rock Trust’s Ending Youth Homelessness Sleep-Out in Edinburgh’s Festival Square tomorrow.

Beth, Shauna, Katie, Janice, Philippa, Adam, Cathy, Rebecca, Robert and Harriet have collectively raised £3,269.15 so far.

Janice Blenkinsopp told Scottish Housing News: “We wanted to say a huge thanks to all those who have supported us and donated so far.

“We also wanted to praise staff and students who baked/sold/bought and ate ‘their socks off’ (actually cakes and lovely treats ;o)) this week to raise a further huge total of £530 for Rock-Trust Sleep-Out.

“We still want to do much more before Friday is over however.”

2016 marks the 25th Anniversary of the Rock Trust supporting young people in Scotland.

The 2016 Sleep Out will take place from 7pm—7am at Festival Square in Edinburgh.
