Hebridean Housing Partnership has handed over 33 new homes at An Allt Dubh to tenants.

The properties in Blackwater, Newmarket, on the outskirts of Stornoway, are the first phase of a 74-house development being built by Calmax Construction Limited which contended with a very wet and challenging summer to bring this phase of construction to completion.

Jens Johansen one of the new tenants, expressed his gratitude: “The house and view are perfect, I’m so happy.”

Gordon MacLeod, chairperson of HHP, said: “This first phase of 33 homes at An Allt Dubh is testament to the collaborative efforts with the Scottish Government who supported the development with funding of £9.5 million.
