HHP marks handover of first phase of new development
Hebridean Housing Partnership has handed over 33 new homes at An Allt Dubh to tenants.
The properties in Blackwater, Newmarket, on the outskirts of Stornoway, are the first phase of a 74-house development being built by Calmax Construction Limited which contended with a very wet and challenging summer to bring this phase of construction to completion.
Jens Johansen one of the new tenants, expressed his gratitude: “The house and view are perfect, I’m so happy.”
Gordon MacLeod, chairperson of HHP, said: “This first phase of 33 homes at An Allt Dubh is testament to the collaborative efforts with the Scottish Government who supported the development with funding of £9.5 million.
“The exceptional quality of these homes is down to the skilled workmanship of Calmax Construction Limited and our shared commitment to community development. The milestone marks a significant step forward in our commitment to providing quality homes and we look forward to the continued growth and positive impact this project will bring to the area.”
