Hillcrest Foundation opens its funding pot to community bids
After distributing over £354,000 to local community groups and organisations in Dundee, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow in 2022, the Hillcrest Foundation’s funding pot has now open for 2023, to support invaluable and much-needed community projects.
A total of 73 projects were supported, with 32 different community groups and organisations successfully securing funding.
Of the grants awarded in 2022, over £144,000 went towards improving health and wellbeing, £50,000 was channelled into tackling isolation and £160,000 was awarded to projects aimed at reducing inequalities.
The Hillcrest Foundation is again looking to fund projects that work to improve the lives of people in Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Fife, Perth and Kinross, Aberdeen and Angus. Funding bids can range from £500 to a maximum of £5,000.
Mark Percival, chair of the Hillcrest Foundation, said: “The Foundation was established to support local communities and create positive futures. By supporting external groups, we have been able to make a bigger impact and support a wider range of people.
“Over the last year, we have distributed £354,235 to the communities that Hillcrest operates in, and it has been my absolute pleasure to be part of something that is improving the lives of so many people.”
