Hillcrest staff celebrate 50th anniversary
Hillcrest Housing Association has celebrated 50 years of delivering quality affordable homes and top rated support services to communities across Scotland at a special celebratory event at Dundee’s Apex Hotel.
Over 300 staff from across Hillcrest HA and the other companies within the Hillcrest Group celebrated their organisations’ 50th anniversary in style.
Angela Linton, chief executive of the Hillcrest Group of Companies, said: “Fifty years is a milestone to celebrate so it was fantastic to have over 300 members of staff at what was undoubtedly our biggest and best event to date.
“It was an action packed night, during which everyone enjoyed a staff awards ceremony, live music and the unveiling of the fantastic grand total of money raised by staff throughout the year for a number of charities.”
As part of the 50th anniversary celebrations, teams from across the Group worked together to fundraise money for a wide range of charities and, during the event, it was revealed that over £66,000 was raised.
Ms Linton continued: “It was truly heartening to see staff pull together throughout the year and work towards raising money for so many worthwhile causes and it was even better to be able to announce the total at this special event.
“While the event was a great opportunity to recognise Hillcrest’s previous achievements and successes; it was also an opportunity to look to the future. Our greatest accomplishments lie ahead of us.”
From just a handful of tenement flats on Dundee’s Blackness Road, Hillcrest Housing Association has grown to become one of Scotland’s largest providers of affordable housing with a portfolio of over 6000 houses.
Over 2500 of these homes are delivered to the people of Dundee. Hillcrest also provides properties to families, single people, the elderly, the vulnerable and the homeless in Angus, Perth, Fife and Edinburgh.
The celebrations continue for Hillcrest this week when, on Friday, they will host a charity dinner dance event at the Apex to raise money for Dundee Bairns and Move On.
