Hillcrest unveils Dundee flats proposals
Plans have been submitted to develop 12 new flats in Dundee on behalf of Hillcrest Housing Association.
Under the proposals lodged to Dundee City Council by Jon Frullani Architects, the former Garden Works unit on Benvie Road will be revamped to provide 12 apartments with associated car parking, cycle and refuse storage and communal garden ground.
Planning documents reveal the flats will be let as two-bedroom social housing to try to meet the demand for affordable homes in the city.
The building currently houses children’s charity Youth-Link (Dundee).
Hillcrest director of development, David Zwirlein, told Scottish Housing News: “The demand for affordable housing continues to grow across Dundee and these flats will mark another important housing development for both Hillcrest and the city.
“The plans outline homes which are of good quality, affordable and energy efficient.
“These properties will form part of our growing development programme in Dundee and will bring more much needed affordable rented housing to the city.”
