Hillcrest’s big birthday bash raises cash for charities
Over £50k was raised for two Scottish charities at a black tie fundraising event hosted by Hillcrest Housing Association at Dundee’s Apex Hotel on Friday.
Raising money for Dundee Bairns and Move On, Hillcrest’s 50th Anniversary Celebration Event was attended by nearly 500 representatives from local and national businesses and charitable organisations.
Hillcrest Group of Companies chief executive, Angela Linton, said: “In our 50th year it was fantastic to see so many businesses and partnering organisations in the room, not only to celebrate our 50th anniversary but, to raise a brilliant amount for two worthwhile charities – Dundee Bairns and Move On. It seemed only fitting that the total raised was £50k in our 50th year!”
Dundee Bairns has delivered 50,000 meals to primary school children over the last 18 months and plans to providing food and activities to children in the deprived areas within the city.
Move On works with vulnerable young people and those affected by homelessness in Edinburgh and Glasgow by enabling them to unlock their potential and achieve a range of positive outcomes.
Angela Linton added: “I would like to thank our headline sponsor, Robertson Partnership Homes, and our other sponsors, Cruden Homes, Hart Builders, Thorntons Solicitors and Cullross Limited, for supporting the event.
“Bringing an event of this scale together is a real team effort and it would not have been possible without the enthusiasm and generosity of everyone involved in the organisation of the night and the individuals and businesses who donated items for the raffle and auction.”
After enjoying a three-course meal, guests took part in a luxury auction hosted by Steven Dewar from Curr & Dewar Auctioneers.
The auction featured a range of items including a weekend break in London, a Tag Heuer watch and the opportunity to have a private chef for the evening.
The event marked the end of a busy anniversary year for Hillcrest, during which staff worked together to raise over £66,000 for a range of charities.
