Hillhead awarded Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation
Hillhead Housing Association has been awarded the Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation as part of a two-year investment programme in its ICT systems.
Measured by an external assessor, Hillhead met the requirements of the standard which applies across all of the Association’s ICT systems.
Cyber security is an increasing risk across the sector, and this accreditation demonstrates the Association’s commitment to cyber security and to the safekeeping of its data.
The accreditation is an annual process, and Hillhead will therefore continue to seek continuous improvement in cyber resilience as it embeds cyber awareness into the organisation across all levels.
The Association works closely with its IT support provider Lugo to ensure that its cyber resilience remains strong, and its IT systems perform as efficiently as possible to support its housing, maintenance and governance services.
Maureen Cameron, Hillhead’s senior systems & innovation officer, said: “Hillhead in common with other housing associations increasingly rely on our ICT systems to deliver our services and we have to ensure that these are secure and are protected by robust security measures. The award of this accreditation will reassure our customers and partners that we are managing our systems securely to protect against possible attack and loss.”
Steven McGuire from Lugo added: “Keeping our HA clients’ data as safe as possible is hugely important to us. We were delighted to be able to assist Hillhead HA in achieving this important accreditation, a testimonial to the importance they place on keeping their clients’ records secure in a protected environment.”
