Holyrood committee to discuss housing for disabled, elderly and veterans
The Scottish Parliament’s local government and communities committee will meet today as it examines housing adaptations for disabled people, elderly and veterans.
The committee will hear from the following witnesses:
The papers, copies of which are available here, include written evidence from witnesses including Shelter Scotland, which said: “The supply of adapted and adaptable housing in Scotland is currently insufficient and should be increased across all tenures. Scotland is in a housing crisis with insufficient housing across all tenures but particularly in the supply of affordable and socially rented homes.
“This puts pressure on all parts of the housing system, especially high needs groups including those who are homeless and those who have specific accessibility requirements due to a disability.”
The meeting can be watched live from 10am via https://www.scottishparliament.tv.
