Home Comforts welcomes national homelessness body
North Lanarkshire charity Home Comforts will welcome representatives of Scottish Churches Housing Action today to see the project’s work with homeless people in the area.
Chief executive Alastair Cameron will join board members Carrie Gooch and Liann Weir to meet Home Comforts’ staff and volunteers at New St Andrew’s Church in Coatbridge.
Alastair Cameron said: “Last year Scottish Churches Housing Action marked our 20th anniversary. In honour of this milestone, we decided to visit the various projects we have worked with over the years. We’re long-standing friends of Home Comfort, and we’re delighted to include them on our itinerary. We look forward to meeting people, both service users and volunteers, who benefit from the work they do.”
David Kennedy, chair of Home Comforts, is looking forward to the visit and said: “Scottish Churches Housing Action provided invaluable advice when we began to operate five years ago, and we have appreciated their continued support as we have developed. We provide 500 cleaning packs a year to homeless persons and others in housing need across North Lanarkshire.
“We are delighted that SCHA representatives will visit to observe our progress and hear of our exciting plans for the future.”
