Home in Scotland appoints Maryhill Housing Association’s Bryony Willett as new director
Home in Scotland has appointed Bryony Willett as its new director.
She will lead a team which supports over 12,500 customers across 5,500 social rent and mid-market rent homes, as well as factored properties. The appointment is central to Home in Scotland’s mission to build homes, independence and aspirations and to deliver on its customer promise which commits to making lives better and easier.
Bryony Willett, who has a wealth of experience in the social housing sector in both Scotland and England, is currently chief executive of Maryhill Housing Association. Among her achievements during her seven years with the Glasgow-based housing association, Bryony secured support and funding for three regeneration schemes.
Prior to taking up the CEO role, she was director of housing services at Maryhill. Before her time in Glasgow, she spent six years with Islington Council, ending her time there as Head of Housing Partnerships and Communities.
A board member of the Chartered Institute of Housing in Scotland between 2016 and 2022, Bryony Willett is currently a board member for Hanover Scotland.
Ahead of taking up the new role in late July, she said: “I can’t wait to get started, especially to work with such a fantastic team, who over the past year, have delivered hundreds of much needed homes for customers, as well as supported communities across the country.
“There’s a lot we need to do in the coming years to ensure we continue to build the right homes in the right places, maintain and upgrade our customers’ existing homes to meet our net zero targets, as well as continue to support our communities. But as the past year has shown, Home in Scotland is in a good place to achieve all of this.”
Susan Deacon, chair of Home in Scotland, added: “We are delighted to appoint Bryony as our new director for Home in Scotland.
“Her obvious talent, leadership and experience will be invaluable as we continue to grow, and work towards our mission to build homes, independence and aspirations.”
