Homes plan aims to complete Alexander ‘Greek’ Thomson masterplan
Plans have been lodged for more than 100 flats on a former Arnold Clark site in Glasgow.
Submitted by Page\Park Architects, the application seeks permission for 104 flats on brownfield land at 134 Nithsdale Drive.
Given the site’s proximity to famed architect Alexander “Greek” Thomson’s A-listed Moray Place, Page\Park said the design “seeks to ‘fill the gap’ complementing the scale and aspirations of surrounding buildings”, with particular reference to the work of Thomson.
“The project seeks to establish a strong civic façade facing Nithsdale Drive. This elevation is symmetrical,” the practice added.
If approved, Arnold Clark hopes to agree a sale to a developer.
