HouseMark launches new business planning tool for Scottish local authorities
HouseMark has launched a new tool for Scottish local authorities which assures business plans are built on solid foundations and at the same time enables authorities to demonstrate value for rent to tenants and other stakeholders.
PlanForm is an on-line HRA comparison tool which takes data direct from HRA business plans – with minimum input – and enables users to compare their assumptions and forecasts with others in real time.
The comparisons are presented on an anonymised basis which means local authorities can compare themselves against a peer group without having to divulge individual results. PlanForm is free to HouseMark members.
HouseMark have named i.s.4 as their lead partner for implementing PlanForm in Scotland. This new partnership creates an integrated end to end offer for Scottish local authorities which brings together i.s.4’s expertise in strategic and financial planning and HouseMark’s expertise in business intelligence and comparative analysis.
HouseMark’s Scotland manager, Kirsty Wells, said: “The importance of a confident, robust business plan based on sound assumptions has never been greater. PlanForm has been especially created to help users compare their business plan assumptions and forecasted outputs on an anonymised basis.”
i.s.4’s managing director, Andrea Paterson added: “We are delighted to be working with HouseMark to take forward the implementation of PlanForm in Scotland. PlanForm has the potential to deliver very significant benefits for Scottish Local Authorities, supporting how they plan, deliver and utilise HRA resources in the future. In the current financial climate when ‘more for less’ continues to be a key requirement, this is a potentially powerful resource.”
