The new homes, which are nearing completion, are on the site of the old boatyard and enjoy enviable harbour views.

The development is being built by Hart Builders, part of The Cruden Group, and consists of 22 two bed and four one bed flats. It is the first contract to be called off from LAR’s £5 million building framework and the organisation’s first design and build project.

Mrs Leslie added: “This development has been a game changer for us in that we have been actively involved in remediating the site, designing the homes and seeking planning permission, prior to appointing a builder. We have previously bought turn key properties or homes already under construction and so to have been able to construct such a stunning development as our first project is fantastic. LAR was set up in late 2015 to provide much needed mid-market rental properties across Scotland. It currently has two other completed developments in East Lothian in its portfolio, at Pinkie Mains in Musselburgh and Macmerry and is actively looking for more sites to develop into more affordable housing.
