Housing implications in spotlight as health and social care integration goes live
As legislation to implement the integration of health and social care in Scotland comes into force today, housing professionals are being encouraged to participate in a new Housing, Health and Social Care club to discuss the potential implications for the Scottish housing sector.
With one of the key aims of the new legislation being to enable people to live independently at home, HouseMark Scotland and national housing and care provider Blackwood, are hosting a housing, health and social care event on April 22nd in Edinburgh to explore how social landlords can contribute to and shape the policy agenda.
The free event will be chaired by Fanchea Kelly, chief executive of Blackwood, and will include contributions from Audit Scotland, Help to Adapt and CIH Scotland.
HouseMark Scotland provides insight in the housing sector and hosts a busy schedule of events throughout the year with a specific focus on topical issues affecting the Scottish housing sector.
Head of HouseMark Scotland, Kirsty Wells, said: “Today is a really significant day for the integration of health and social care in Scotland as this important new legislation officially enters into force. We know housing professionals will have lots of questions about the practical implications for the housing sector, which is why we’ve organised this new specialist club to explore how housing policy may have to adapt in future to accommodate the integration of health and social care.”
