An exhibition that showcased the high quality improvements planned for over 2,000 Fife Council homes in the 2025/26 financial year welcomed hundreds of tenants to the Rothes Halls.

The annual Better Homes Exhibition, which has returned for the first time since the pandemic, is a great opportunity for council tenants to find out about the home improvements planned for them. They were able to look at material and colours, find out about their options and ask questions about the planned work to their bathrooms or kitchens.

Information was also available on property adaptations, windows and doors, heating, sustainability, energy efficiency and money advice. Partners including Home Energy Scotland, Cosy Kingdom, Kingdom Community Bank and representatives of the Tenant Associations were also on hand to provide free and impartial assistance.

Fife Council’s spokesperson for Housing, Cllr Judy Hamilton, welcomed the return of the exhibition: “This is always a popular event with very positive feedback from tenants.

“In the coming year Fife Council will be spending £34 million improving over 2,000 properties with new fitted kitchens and bathrooms, replacement heating systems, new roofs, roughcasting work and guttering improvements. I’m pleased so many tenants attended, to see for themselves the measures we are taking to improve the quality of council housing.

“It’s absolutely vital that Fife’s communities can enjoy quality affordable homes. The improvements that will be delivered over this next year show our commitment to ensuring tenants live in high quality, energy efficient properties that they are proud to call home.”
