Housing set to be delivered former Bathgate abattoir site
Planning permission has been granted for the development of over 150 new homes in Bathgate.
The application from Urban Life Ltd proposed the erection of 154 houses and 12 flats at the former abattoir site on Whitburn Road, Bathgate.
The application had previously been heard at a meeting of West Lothian Council’s Development Management Committee where members agreed for a revised application to be brought back to a future meeting in order for further dialogue between the developer and planning authority regarding a number of items raised during the initial committee meeting.
A revised application was brought back to the committee on Wednesday 19 April which addressed a number of items including the layout of housing on the site, the location of the children’s play area and the removal and maintenance of trees onsite.
After hearing details contained within the report from planning officers, the committee members agreed to grant planning permission subject to conditions.
