Indigo House is a collaborative consultancy offering integrated services in housing, social and financial inclusion, with a wealth of experience in research and evaluation in the housing sector.

The review will seek to assess the strength and areas for development with regards to culture and leadership, how landlords consider these factors, and how and if this could be improved at an individual, organisational and systemic level. It will also consider the emerging trends and risks in the Scottish social housing sector, as well as how learning can be encouraged from other sectors and jurisdictions.

Commenting on the research, CIH Scotland’s national director Callum Chomczuk said: “While the Grenfell Inquiry considered what improvements would be appropriate to improve the housing system in England, we are not aware of any existing analysis of leadership and culture in the Scottish social housing sector.

“Anecdotal feedback from landlords has suggested the role of training and qualifications can support a positive culture but we want to better understand what the existing context is for leadership across the social housing sector.

“We are delighted to appoint Indigo House to carry out this research and hope that it will ensure a greater focus on how we can support improvements in culture and leadership in the social housing sector in Scotland, as well as informing wider discussions on professional practice.”
