Input sought on Moray's Local Housing Strategy

Moray Council has launched a survey to gather views on how housing and housing services should be delivered over the next five years.

The new Local Housing Strategy will outline a plan for addressing the housing challenges facing local communities including:

  • increasing the range of housing options to meet need;
  • developing successful places which are connected to transport, services and jobs;
  • improving housing choice and affordability;
  • supporting people with health conditions and disabilities to live independently and well;
  • improving the energy efficiency of homes and tackling climate change;
  • improving the quality and condition of existing homes.

To make sure the strategy reflects the view of Moray communities, an online survey is asking local residents to share their views on the housing issues that matter most in their community. This includes how they feel resources, investment and services should be targeted to address these issues.

All Moray residents are encouraged to take part in the survey which should take no more than five minutes to complete.

Survey responses will be for research purposes only and it will not be possible to identify individuals from the responses.

Chair of Moray Council’s Housing and Community Safety Committee, Cllr Amber Dunbar, said: “We want to ensure that the Local Housing Strategy is informed by the priorities and needs of the people who live in Moray, and this survey is a great opportunity for locals to have a voice in shaping its priorities.”
