The Alliance is tasked with re-shaping and commissioning services to help transform the lives of people experiencing homelessness. The knowledge and expertise of these experts will help guide the Alliance to create services which put people and their needs first and to mitigate the impact of homelessness in the city.

The members of the Advisory Board were invited to join the Alliance because of the impact that they have had in their fields, locally and internationally and their career achievements to date.

Joining the Advisory Council are:

• Sir Harry Burns – Professor of global public health and member of the Council of Economic Advisers in Scotland
• Professor Suzanne Fitzpatrick - Professor of housing and social policy and director of the Institute of Social Policy, Housing and Equalities Research (I-SPHERE) at Heriot-Watt University
• Lydia Stazen - executive director at Institute of Global Homelessness
• Dr Ligia Teixeira - chief executive for Centre for Homelessness Impact
• Chris Hildrey – Founder of ProxyAddress, director of Hildrey Studio and leading architect and expert on built environment that is socially, economically, and ecologically sustainable who sits on the Transparency Task Force Special Interest Group for Governance, Culture, and Conduct.

Professor Suzanne Fitzpatrick said: “I was delighted to be invited to be a member of the Advisory Council and be a part of the vitally important​ work planned to tackle and end homelessness in Glasgow.

“Preventing people becoming homeless in the first place is crucial to these efforts and I was pleased to have an early opportunity to contribute to GAEH’s thinking on this.”

Alliance director Mark Kelvin will work closely with the Advisory Council and the Leadership Team to drive forward the plans that will re-shape Glasgow’s services to overcome the issues which cause homelessness and to mitigate the impact of homelessness in the city.

He added: “We are privileged to have such a high calibre of expertise available to the Alliance, to challenge our thinking and keep us focused on ending homelessness in Glasgow.”
