Investors in People gold for North Ayrshire Council’s housing services
The accreditation was first awarded in 2012 and its renewal follows a series of staff interviews with assessors who were extremely complimentary about the great team of staff and the improvement mind-set which exists amongst them.
Assessors were impressed with how staff clearly demonstrated focus, passion and inspiration – three values which council staff claimed as their own and which have been transforming the organisation and its service delivery. Indeed, assessors described the strong feeling from staff that the council is ‘going in the right direction’ and that they believe they are ‘recognised and valued’.
Cabinet member for place, councillor Tony Gurney, is delighted with the renewed ‘Gold Accreditation’.
He said: “Investors in People accreditation is globally recognised as a mark of excellence. It reflects an organisation’s high performance through its people and Housing Services should be duly delighted with their efforts.
“The assessors reflected on the successful management of the council’s restructure to form the Place Directorate in 2014 and it is testament to the great staff within this service that they have retained this prestigious accreditation while undergoing this comprehensive restructure.”
A formal feedback report will be delivered to the council within the next 10 days. In the meantime though, Housing Services remains committed to delivering excellence.
