Irvine Housing holds double birthday party at Hawthorn Place
The sun was shining on Thursday July 15 as Irvine Housing Association tenants Margaret McCaig and May Wilson celebrated their 90th and 80th birthdays.
Housing staff organised a garden party for the ladies at their Hawthorn Place residence in Kilwinning.
May Wilson, 80 was delighted to share the celebrations with friend Margaret and said: “It’s so nice to see everyone as we have not seen everyone together for over a year! As it is a double birthday celebration it was an extra special get together. Wonderful day!”
Margaret McCaig, 90 was thrilled to get together with friends again, she added: “Couldn’t have asked for a better day! Lovely to see friends and neighbours all together again after so long to celebrate my birthday with. Great day!”
Michelle Fairbairn, warden at Hawthorn Place organised the event with her Irvine Housing Association colleagues. She commented: “It’s just wonderful to see the tenants socialising and celebrating special occasions once again. Not only has the event given the residents something to look forward to, it has been great for their wellbeing being able to get out in a safe environment and meet up with their friends and neighbours.
“The housing team are delighted we’ve been able to facilitate this event and give the residents a little bit of fun and normality. The weather was just glorious – it was a great day all round!”
