It is with great sadness that Hillhead Housing Association reports the untimely passing away of Jim Shovlin, past chair of the Association between 2010 and 2016.

Jim, a local man, served on the Association’s Management Committee for almost six years, and was extremely active throughout this time, selflessly devoting his time to help the Association develop and improve the living conditions for the tenants of Hillhead.

A set designer by trade, Jim was well travelled and a connoisseur of fine wines. The welfare of others was his top priority and this was especially appreciated by the staff team at the Association.

Hillhead Housing Association said: “Jim was well respected, admired and liked by all staff and fellow committee members, and we will all miss him dearly. Our thoughts are with his family at this time.”

Jim’s funeral mass will take place on Tuesday 16 January 2018 at 10.00AM at St Flannan’s Chapel, Kirkintilloch.
