Kindness Homeless launches funding appeal for new premises
A charity which provides services to vulnerable and homeless people in Glasgow is seeking to raise £20,000 to fund a new operation space.
Kindness Homeless secured temporary storage space to carry out its work during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, but is now seeking new premises for the next 12 months.
Laura McSorley, founder of the charity, has written on the charity’s GoFundMe page: “We absolutely want to continue to combat homelessness and poverty. We have fed over 42,000 meals since March. We have also supplied and helped over 100 people in new accommodation.
“We continue to provide a four-day service in George Square which offers hot food, cold food and non-perishable items, toiletries, clothing and footwear and hot/cold drinks. We need to raise these funds to secure the appropriate unit we need. No matter how big or small, it’s very much appreciated.”
The fundraiser will see money put towards a new home in Glasgow’s East End, where the charity was previously based.
