Kingdom Housing Association has announced the appointment of Matthew Busher as its new Head of Housing.

Bill Banks, chief executive at Kingdom, said: “Matthew will be replacing our previous Head of Housing, Stephen Cairns, who was with the Association for thirty years and made a valuable contribution to Kingdom’s success over the years.

“However, we are very pleased we have been able to recruit Matthew, who is an experienced Housing Professional, having previously worked as Housing Manager with another Housing Association for ten years.”

Matthew, 38, has worked in social housing for thirteen years, from entry level as a Housing Assistant, then as a Housing Officer and in his current role as Housing Manager. In 2014 Matthew completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Housing.

Matthew, who is looking forward to relocating to Fife from Aberdeenshire, said: “I am excited to be joining Kingdom Housing Association at this time. The housing sector faces an increasingly complex range of challenges and changes. But there are also many opportunities for continuing to develop and deliver excellent services. I enjoy working with customers and colleagues to find ways to continually improve services and I am looking forward to working at Kingdom Housing Association to achieve this.”

He added: “Away from work I enjoy a variety of activities with my family, particularly outdoor adventures with our newly acquired puppy. I enjoy playing 5-aside football, playing the piano, and cooking, though not necessarily at the same time and I recently started playing golf, although this requires some practice.”

Matthew will start with Kingdom at the end of October.

Norah Smith, Kingdom’s director of housing & care, said: “All RSLs are facing continued challenges and we are delighted that Matthew will be joining the management team.

“His previous experience and knowledge will be a real asset to Kingdom, as we continue to develop and implement our housing strategy and face future challenges.”
