Kingdom Housing Association has taken part in Kirkcaldy High School’s Annual Employability Fayre.

A number of staff from Kingdom visited the school and were able to talk with the students about the range of different careers and employment opportunities there are within the housing sector.

Kingdom’s health and safety officer, Dave Roy, who attended the fayre, said: “The event provided pupils in S4-S6 with the opportunity to engage with and also meet some of our staff including our latest trainees and we were able to give them in insight to our organisation and the services we deliver to our customers.”

Kirkcaldy High School teacher Lisa Malcolm, who coordinated the event, said: “Building on success from previous years, thirty three organisations attended on the day including; Kingdom Housing, BAM construction, NHS Fife, Police Scotland, SRUC, Fife College and many more.

“The event proved to be hugely valuable to the young people of Kirkcaldy High School, giving them the opportunity to explore and discuss future pathways and the skills and qualities required to be successful in each industry. We would like to extend their thanks to all external partners who attended on the day and who continue work with them year on year.”

Bill Banks, Kingdom’s group chief executive, said: “Delivering added value, through working with the communities where we operate, is very important to us and we have been implementing this approach for many years. Part of the strategy includes working closely with schools and colleges in our local area and we are collaborating with a number of school partnerships across a range of different projects.

“This not only helps us progress our community initiatives objectives, it also provides the schools with relevant practical projects, along with a range of advice and assistance services for pupils and students.”
