Kingdom Housing Association held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) last week at the Carnegie Conference Centre in Dunfermline bringing together members, board members and staff to celebrate the year’s accomplishments and milestones.

Kingdom Housing Association chair Linda Leslie opened the event by highlighting the organisation’s commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience and providing high-quality affordable homes.

Linda Leslie remarked: “In the last 12 months we continued to operate in a challenging economic environment where soaring food and energy prices and rising interest rates contributed to the ongoing cost of living crisis. Customers and colleagues alike faced tough economic conditions but staff at the Kingdom Group continued to work together as One Kingdom - across teams, departments, and office locations - to deliver a range of services that make a real difference to our customers and our communities.

“Our overarching mission is to provide more than a home and as we have grown as an organisation beyond housing into property management and social care, our wraparound services have supported our customers and wider family connections to reach their potential.”

Those in attendance at the AGM heard about another successful year in which Kingdom invested almost £47 million in building affordable housing, completing 367 new homes and starting on site with a further 377. Maintaining existing homes also remained a priority, with £5m invested in customers’ homes.

Recognising the ongoing cost of living crisis, Kingdom’s Tenancy Sustainment Service opened almost 2,000 new cases for customers, helping them access over £1.3m of financial gains.

Leigh Grubb, Kingdom’s group director of corporate services, added: “Looking back over the last year I am very proud of everything we have achieved for our customers and communities. We have made positive contributions to our strategic objectives whilst ensuring our homes remain safe, sustainable and affordable. We have nurtured existing partnerships including with the Scottish Government and local authorities and developed innovative partnerships with world-class organisations such as the University of St Andrews.

“My thanks go to the management and staff for their hard work and dedication over the last 12 months, supported and encouraged by the excellent leadership of boards across the Kingdom Group.”
