Kingdom Housing Association has thrown its support behind the Abernethy Fete, which is a very important fundraiser for the management committee of the village’s Williamson Hall.

The Hall is the base for a wide range of community activities, including playgroups, health & well-being projects and anti-litter campaigns.

Speaking at the presentation of a cheque for £100 from Kingdom, treasurer Sue Smith said: “The Hall has had a very exciting year and last June, after the fete, we closed our doors for eight weeks while we underwent major renovation works. I can’t tell you how much nicer and warmer it is.”

Last year Kingdom completed its first development in Abernethy with the construction of 12 three bedroom homes for mid market rent at Provost Mains, at a total cost of £1.4 million with funding assistance of £431,000 provided by the Scottish Government.

Chief executive of Kingdom Housing Association, Bill Banks, said: “Kingdom is now well established in Abernethy, the new houses look really good and it has been very satisfying to hear about the new residents moving in and becoming part of the community.”
