Kingdom and Campion join local businesses to support Forth Road Bridge Race
The Pitreavie AAC Forth Road Bridge 10K Race has been helped on track to success by a very generous three-way sponsorship from two leading housing organisations – Campion Homes and Kingdom Housing Association, and Benji Physio Services.
The Forth Road Bridge is one of 3 iconic bridges in the River Forth. When opened in 1964 it was considered one of the world’s most significant long-span suspension bridges in the world, carrying similarities to the striking Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
It’s an impressive bridge to run. Runners come to the race for different reasons - many don’t come expecting a personal best – they say it’s truly a ‘bucket list’ race, offering a unique, showcasing experience with breathtaking views.
Campbell Blair, Pitreavie AAC race director, gave a huge thanks to locally based Campion Homes, Kingdom Housing Association and Benji for supporting the event.
He said: “Our annual event on Sunday 18th August will host 400 runners and it is so popular that it completely sold out soon after entries were invited! We are fortunate to have Benji nearby who with his fantastic team of physiotherapists have helped treat many runners get back from injury – indeed some are taking part on the race day!”
Campbell added: “Pitreavie AAC continue to be a vibrant part of the community and it’s great to see all three sponsors in this, with us, together. The Club is heavily reliant on volunteers and the generous sponsorship will enable us to do our very best in our efforts to keep race costs affordable for the runners who compete.”
Susan Jackson, joint managing director of Campion Homes, said: “The Forth Road Bridge makes up one of the most iconic views in the country and Campion Homes is really proud to be able to support this spectacular race held by Pitreavie AAC. We are a local, trusted, family-owned housebuilder and we are glad to be able to invest in the local area, including by supporting this great community event.
“I wish all the runners the very best for the race and am sure that your efforts will inspire others to join the running community.”
Calum Kippen, Kingdom Housing Association’s director of governance, risk and performance, leads the team that administers the Community Initiatives Fund, from which the sponsorship donation was made.
He said: “At the Kingdom Group our mission is to provide more than a home and one of the ways we can do that is by using our Community Initiatives Fund to support events like the Forth Road Bridge 10k.
“We want our customers and our communities to thrive and we know that when we work closely with local partners we can do more and achieve more. I’m delighted that Kingdom, Campion Homes and Benji have been able to support Pitreavie AAC and the Forth Road Bridge 10k. I wish everyone taking part the very best of luck.”
