Kingdom lends support to Christmas Appeal
Kingdom Housing Association staff have generously donated toys and gifts in support of the Cottage Family Centre’s Christmas Appeal.
The Cottage Family Centre is based in Kirkcaldy and supports vulnerable children and families in Kirkcaldy and surrounding areas. They have currently had over 1040 referrals from families in need of support this year.
The staff at Kingdom were keen to help the Christmas Appeal and during December staff donated toys and gifts to support the appeal.
Vikki Watt, Kingdom’s housing assistant, who organised the fundraising event, said: “The staff really wanted to help families in the areas where we provide housing, to make sure they have a great Christmas. The Cottage Family Centre are doing an amazing job to make sure children wake up to Santa on Christmas morning. It was really good to see our donations box being filled with lots of nice presents and we are overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of the staff.”
Leigh Shearer, was one of the Kingdom‘s service co-ordinators who helped support the fundraising, arranged raffles and the sale of breakfast rolls at Kingdom‘s offices. Admin officer Vicky Brand also helped to host a Christmas jumper day in Kingdom’s offices.
In addition to the gifts donated, the staff raised over £400 and this was used to purchase some additional toys. Kingdom donated a further donation of £250 from its Community Fund to support the fund raising arranged by staff.
Vikki and Leigh dropped off the toys and donations to the Cottage Centre Christmas Appeal where the organisers said a massive thanks to Leigh and everyone at Kingdom for their amazing donations of toys and gifts for the children.
