Kingdom plans for new affordable Inverkeithing homes
Kingdom Housing Association has applied for planning permission to build an affordable housing development at Manse Road, Inverkeithing.
Kingdom aims to create high quality, energy efficient homes centred around an enhanced new “community green” playpark and public space. The site is located in the largely residential area to the west of Inverkeithing Town Centre and benefits from easterly views to the Firth of Forth.
The proposal is to provide 16 family homes for social rent and forms part of a wider strategy to create new affordable housing within the town.
Prior to submitting the planning application to Fife Council, the Association carried out public consultation with stakeholders and the local community.
Bill Banks, Kingdom Group chief executive, said: “We believe our proposals will help address the high demand for affordable housing in Inverkeithing and will give local people the opportunity to access high quality affordable housing. The site is in an excellent location and will prove extremely popular. If our planning application is successful we would hope that construction works can begin early 2018.”
7N Architects of Edinburgh have designed the project on behalf of Kingdom and submitted the detailed planning proposals for the 16 new homes.
The design proposals pitched roof forms and modulated dormers, to reflect the surrounding area.
Architects 7N have worked in collaboration with Rankin Fraser Landscape Architecture and given careful design consideration to create new housing with a distinctive character, integrated with a landscape that will provide a safe, comfortable and enjoyable place for families to live their lives.
